The disc uses lightweight, ultra-high-strength fibers also used in body armor for wear resistance and a high friction coefficient into the ultra-high temperature range. A high-rigidity aluminium alloy cover with a lightweight flywheel cuts overall kit inertia by 30% against OEM, and disc inertia is 29% lower (CT9A example). A new diaphragm spring (push type cover) and cushioning plates give low pedal effort and easy half-clutch engagement, and a silent damper is used where needed to avoid gear noise at idle.
