The ORC Light series was engineered for sports driving with a pedal feel close to standard: light organic-friction discs with a cushioning layer, a strap-drive cover with no rattle when disengaged, and a lightweight flywheel that cuts total clutch weight by approx. 20-40 percent versus stock. Overhaul cost is low because the pressure plate can be replaced on its own (factory service). The ORC-550L is the twin plate version of the Light series. Push type operation, damperless disc, standard (STD) cover. It is fitted with the ORC SE mechanism: a cushioning mechanism in the pressure plate that greatly widens the half-clutch range and cuts shock torque on engagement by approx. 40 percent (ORC comparison), protecting the transmission, differential and drive shafts.
