About a year has passed since the 10th generation Civic was released. At SPOON, we have repeated tests on every stage in order to pursue a higher area while making the best use of Civic's high total balance, but the biggest problem in making a time attack on the circuit was a car over 1300 kg. The brake load was increased due to the weight.
The size of the genuine brake disc of FK7 HATCHBACK / FC1 SEDAN is ?282, 23mm thick, but the temperature of the brake disc exceeds 500 ?, which is the same as the race, in sports driving.
Therefore, SPOON has newly developed for FK7 / FC1 based on the 6POT monocoque caliper that has been tested and developed in the Super Taikyu series since 2016. The biggest feature of this "FULL monoblock caliper" is the capless design, which was developed without any compromise in structure, performance and durability. The capless full mono body is manufactured with an "angle head processing machine". By adopting this method, it is possible to reduce the number of rubber parts, reduce liquid loss, and design a highly rigid and lightweight caliper.
The ultra-thin piston and large-diameter dust boots meet the required specifications for both street and circuit use.
Uneven wear is suppressed by optimizing the PAD surface pressure by the different diameter 6PISTON design of ?36 / ?34 / ?27.
In addition, by adopting a reverse ventilated disc with a thickness of ?312 25 mm, the brake temperature rise and heat collapse during sports driving are greatly suppressed. Judder resistance has also been dramatically improved, enabling a stable brake feel to be maintained even during continuous laps.
