SPOON SPORTS will be releasing a new ENGINE TRANSMISSION MOUNT SET for the 10th Civic Type R (FK8).
The torque of the engine is transmitted to the tires via the transmission and drive shaft, and the engine mount suppresses the reaction force, and only then does the driving force reach the tires. In a sports drive, the stiffer the engine mount is, the more instantaneous the driving force is generated in response to accelerator operation, improving lap times and, as a secondary effect, improving the shift feel.
However, mounts that are too stiff transmit unpleasant vibrations into the car, greatly reducing comfort.
We developed an engine mount that can achieve both comfort and sports performance, tested mounts of multiple stiffness in various environments, and performed a final check at the Thunderhill 25-hour endurance race. The evaluation from the drivers was very good, and we were able to confirm that there were no problems with the durability of the mounts during the post-race check. A comfortable and sporty mount makes driving even more enjoyable.

Making the engine mount as rigid as possible could help to improve throttle response and even the shift feel to some extent.

In developing our engine mount, we tested various mounts of different stiffness, trying to find the ultimate balance of performance and comfort. Our final testing stage being the 25-hour endurance race.
